Cookie Policy

This site sets no cookies. It stores two values in your browser — your motion preference and your answer to the consent question — and neither ever reaches our servers. This page explains that in full, and what a page load does involve.
1. The short version
No cookies. No analytics. No advertising or tracking network. Nothing on this site profiles you or follows you to another one.
The consent control exists so that if we ever add something that does need your permission, it starts switched off and asks first — rather than being added quietly and disclosed later.
2. What is actually stored on your device
Both values below use localStorage, not cookies, which means they are never attached to a network request and never sent anywhere. They are readable only by this site, in this browser.

Both are strictly necessary in the sense that ePrivacy uses the term: they exist only to carry out a setting you asked for, so they do not require consent. Storing your refusal is not a loophole — it is the only way to honour it.
3. What a page load does involve
Storage is not the only way data moves. Loading this site makes your browser fetch files from a few providers, and any such request carries your IP address and browser headers to whoever answers it. That happens whether or not anything is stored, so it is listed here rather than buried:
- Vercel Inc. — IP address, request headers and page requested, in server logs. Their privacy notice (opens in a new tab).
- Cloudinary Ltd. — IP address and request headers when your browser fetches an image or video. Their privacy notice (opens in a new tab).
None of these places anything on your device, and none of them is an advertising or analytics service: one is the host that answers the request, the other stores the images and video.
The typefaces used to be on that list, fetched from Google and from a type foundry on every page load. They are now served from this site’s own domain, so loading a page tells neither of them anything about you.
4. The categories
The consent control offers three categories. Two of them currently gate nothing, which we would rather say plainly than imply otherwise:
- Strictly necessary (always on) — Your motion preference and this consent choice. Stored in your browser, never sent to us, and the site cannot honour those settings without them.
- Analytics — Would tell us which pages people read and where they leave. Nothing of the kind runs on this site today — this switch exists so that if it ever does, it starts off.
- Marketing — Would let an advertising network recognise you across sites. We run none, and this switch stays off unless you turn it on.
5. Changing your mind
Withdrawing is as easy as giving — that is a requirement, not a courtesy. Open the control at any time:
You can also clear this site’s data in your browser, which removes both stored values; the site will simply ask again. Every major browser also lets you block storage for a site entirely, and nothing here will break if you do.
